What is Silicone/Caulking Installation?

Silicone/Caulking Installation is the process of professionally applying silicone or caulking sealant to joints, gaps, and edges to create a flexible, waterproof barrier. This prevents water, moisture, dirt, and mould from penetrating surfaces, especially in wet areas. Steps Involved in Silicone/Caulking Installation Removal of Old Caulking/Silicone: Old, damaged, or mouldy sealant is carefully removed to ensure proper adhesion. Surface Preparation: The area is cleaned and dried thoroughly to provide a smooth, contaminant-free surface. Masking (Optional): Painter’s tape may be applied along edges for a neat, straight finish. Application of Silicone/Caulking: The sealant is applied evenly along the joint using a caulking gun. Smoothing and Finishing: The bead of silicone/caulking is smoothed with a tool or finger to ensure proper adhesion and a clean appearance. Curing: The sealant is left to cure for the recommended time, forming a durable, flexible seal. Where Silicone/Caulking Installation Is Used Around showers, baths, and vanities Along tile edges and corners Around sinks, benchtops, and splashbacks Around windows, doors, and other high-moisture areas Benefits of Silicone/Caulking Installation Waterproofs joints and edges to prevent leaks Reduces mould and mildew growth Maintains flexibility where surfaces move Enhances the appearance and finish of tiled or wet areas
