What different types stone tiles do Tile Cleaners® hone?

Indoor and outdoor, polished, matte finish, porous, pre-sealed, wherever you have tiles we have a restoration solution. External tiles, natural stone paver's, all bathroom tiles and wall tiles. Tile Cleaners® cater for each and every different type of surface you might have.

What is the difference between your honing service and polishing service?

Honing and polishing produce fairly opposite results. Polishing produces a glossy finish while honing produces a more matte finish. Honed surfaces can hide some imperfections such as scratches, and some everyday dirt, whereas polishing will reflect light and imperfections more than a honed surface.

Will honing remove the sealer from my natural stone?

Yes, the mechanical resurfacing process used to hone your floors will remove all coatings, resulting in your floors being in an "as new" condition. Once honed, you should reseal your surfaces with a deep penetrating, impregnating sealer, which avoids staining and will reduce the effect of soiling.

Do I need to apply a sealer to my honed natural stone?

Tile Cleaners® recommend our clients apply a long lasting water based sealer such as a quality product from Australia's Deepshield™ range of sealer's to their tiles as soon as they have been resurfaced. Your stone will maintain its beautiful character for longer, while also reduce the amount of required regular cleaning.

Is honing stone a messy process?

Can honing leave my floors shiny?

No, honing produces the opposite effect to having your floors polished. Honing will result in a smooth, matte, non reflective finish and will only appear shiny, or glossy where the honing process is followed by a polishing process.

Can honing result in my surfaces becoming slippery?

Honing can provide a degree of slip resistance to your surfaces. Polished surfaces are often slippery when wet and honing is an excellent way to create an extra degree of safety. Please call one of our knowledgeable customer service for more advice regarding your surface.
